What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) position at Planet Forward?
A Professional Land Surveyor responsible for performing vertical and horizontal control surveys, boundary surveys and required calculations and computations as well as ties to subdivisions, property lines and government land corners. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Survey / GIS / CAD Services with indirect (dashed line) reporting to the Survey Manager within the Process Organization. The surveyor must be a Registered Professional Licensed Surveyor.
Required :
B.S degree in Land Surveying required, or equivalent work experience.
Must be a Registered Professional Land Surveyor.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to balance multiple priorities and execute tasks
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Proficient with AutoCAD or related software.
Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Job Functions :
Maintain knowledge of all aspects of surveying, boundary monumentation, federal government requirements and related State laws.
Perform duties related to land surveying for identifying land ownership and property boundaries.
Maintain close communication with the Project Manager, Survey Manager to report survey progress, give input on survey scope of work for projects, and find solutions on projects with difficult scopes of work.
Responsible for survey calculations, analysis and final map checking, review of title data, record drawings research, and client relations.
Verify the accuracy of field survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites
Prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently, efficiently, and accurately.
Sign & Seal plans in the States of Minnesota, Illinois, or any other states where they are licensed.
Write, direct and / or review the writing of descriptions of land to satisfy legal requirements.
Collaborate with project team members, engineers, and Sr. RPLS.
