Our client, a prestigious and long-established architectural firm, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support their diverse projects and clients. This is an exciting opportunity to work on unique projects across the country.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:
- Lead and manage electrical design projects within the commercial and industrial sectors.
- Perform calculations and design details for building electrical systems.
- Collaborate with other technical disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
- Develop, manage, and improve procedures and systems for delivering electrical engineering tasks to high standards.
- Provide regular, accurate reports on project status to senior management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact, managing relationships with clients and contractors.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental considerations are embedded throughout project delivery.
- Add value, mitigate risks, resolve issues, and manage project finances and contracts through effective project management practices.
- Contribute to business development efforts and assist in securing new opportunities for the firm.
- Participate in site visits and meetings both within the USA and internationally.
- Independently train and mentor junior staff, manage sensitive customer information, and determine when to delegate or escalate tasks and issues.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
- 5 years of experience in electrical design.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Active Electrical PE License.
- Experience growing a team/business with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Proven track record of overseeing day-to-day team responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with internal project managers and customers.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and compliance standards.
- Experience designing electrical systems, including selecting equipment (e.g., transformers, metal-clad switchgear), materials, and preparing calculations and specifications.
- Experience in managing projects and staff in a technical consultancy or similar environment.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise documents conveying project progress, status, and financials to stakeholders.
- Proficient in English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills to engage stakeholders.
- Expertise in Electrical Engineering standards, best practices, and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with utility-scale generation and interconnection processes, requirements, and implementation.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- A flexible, proactive approach to work.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 20%).
