What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Operator position at Planet Forward?
Job Summary:
This is an 11-month contract position that requires the candidate to be local to Southport, NC for 24 hour response to call-outs and alternating weekend inspections.
The ideal candidate will have preferred NC wastewater certification and pump repair experience, but it is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain all equipment associated with the individual's primary service line
- Ability to operate and maintain other service line equipment is strongly desired
- Drive company vehicles with valid license
- Comply with DOT regulations and record-keeping if DOT driver
- Communicate job status to division management and customer representatives
Position Overview:
This role involves day-to-day operations and maintenance of a Grade III Wastewater treatment plant, Spray Irrigation System and Class II Wastewater Collection System.
Serves as backup operator in charge of the treatment plant, spray irrigation system and collection system.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducts routine testing of water and records test results
- Maintains plant log book with accurate and timely entries of activities
- Monitors charts, gauges, SCADA, and other operating equipment
- Evaluates data and information pertaining to facility operation and notifies Chief Plant Operator of abnormal conditions
- Makes necessary adjustments to ensure treatment processes comply with state and federal regulations
- Conducts inspection of pump stations and collection system
- Conducts corrective and preventative maintenance and repairs on pumps and equipment
- Maintains property in good order, including housekeeping and grounds upkeep
- Follows proper health and safety standards
- Ensures equipment is in proper and safe working order, conducts corrective and preventative maintenance and repairs
Requirements:
High School Diploma
3 years industry experience
Strong mechanical and maintenance background with pumps
