About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate General Counsel to join our legal team. In this role, you will serve as a key legal advisor to the company and its affiliates worldwide, providing strategic legal counsel and supporting the company's growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and counsel on a wide range of legal matters, including contract law, corporate governance, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, and service agreements.
- Manage litigation matters, including overseeing outside counsel and coordinating legal strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including transportation regulations and maritime law.
- Advise on the legal implications of business decisions and develop strategies to mitigate legal risks.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations as needed.
- Stay current on legal and regulatory developments that impact the company's business.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school in the U.S.
- Active member of the State Bar in the U.S.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the transportation/logistics industry.
- Experience in maritime law is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of contract law, corporate law, and employment law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
