Our Client : IS a $30M, fully integrated manufacturer, operating from a 100,000 square foot facility in Southern California.
The Manufacturing CAD / CAM Technician is responsible for creating / editing 3D models using SolidWorks and for creating / editing / setting up single Numerical Control (NC) programs for turret punch presses and nested files for laser cutting using SigmaNest Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.
- Must be able to work in an expansive, highly active manufacturing environment and learn production processes and resolve issues directly in the production area.
- Embrace the cross-training culture by a willingness to learn other jobs or tasks within the facility.
- Know and abide by company rules and policies with regards to safety and conduct, including the use and maintenance of company provided PPE.
- Flexible schedule is required in regards to overtime and start time according to work volumes.
- Design, model, and test prototypes assemblies of products in SolidWorks.
- Generate all NC programs for steel metal laser and CNC turret punch presses utilizing SigmaNest CAM programming software.
- Read and interpret work orders / drawings / blueprints / sketches, along with written and verbal instructions to produce and edit part drawings / layouts in Solid Works and print part layouts for manufacturing.
- Capable of trouble shooting and resolving issues with programs or missing NCs.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts as requested by operators or supervisors.
- Collaborate with office personnel, leads, and shop floor personnel to answer customer or sales questions about orders and manufacturing issues related to drawings or assemblies.
