Summary / Overall Objectives
Performs a variety of duties in operational support of the Food and Nutrition Department which includes cleaning, ware washing, serving, food preparation, food transport, and stocking of supplies.
Essential Job Functions
oWorks various stations in patient meal service area.
oDelivers carts, meals and supplies to patient units.
oPerforms dishwashing and pot washing.
oServes food in the retail areas.
oStocks supplies throughout the department.
oFills in for cross-trained roles in the department.
oMaintains work area in a sanitary manner; completes cleaning duties.
oPrepares, serves, and stores foods according to HACCP guidelines.
oPractices good hygiene including hand washing, wearing hair restraints, and glove usage.
oUtilizes FIFO when obtaining foods from storage areas.
oTakes and records temperatures of food during meal periods.
oChecks sanitizer in pots area with test strips and records at each fill.
oRecords dish machine temperatures each meal period.
oUses two patient identifiers when delivering trays to patients.
oUses equipment in a safe manner; reports any issues immediately.
oCleans equipment according to established guidelines.
oRefers to and follows MSDS guidelines for chemical usage and storage.
oUses proper body techniques in lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
oPerforms excellent customer service skills with all customers and coworkers.
oAnswers questions about prepared café food items.
oHandles service recovery immediately or involves supervisor as needed.
oReceives and distributes all messages in a timely manner
