What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Per Diem) position at Planet Pharma?
This is a per-diem position at our client, a Medical Device company in Santa Clara.
After the first few weeks of onboarding and training, the work hours will vary based on the projects being supported. Slide Readers will be notified of hours typically 1-week in advance, with occasional 24-hr notice for some urgent projects.
Requirements :
- BS / MS in Medical Technology
- ASCP) certified licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist
- 2 years in experience in Clinical Laboratory hematology
- Must be able to identify blood films
Responsibilities
Conducts chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid, to determine presence of normal and abnormal components. Studies blood cells, their numbers and morphology. Performs blood group, type and compatibility tests for transfusion purposes. Analyzes test results and enters findings in computer. Performs quality control studies to ensure accuracy of clinical data. Engages in medical research under direction of Chief Medical Technologist. Performs routine preventative maintenance of assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure. Verifies instrument functioning by checking and calibrating specific lab instruments and documents data. Records on instrument logs any repairs, replacement and maintenance needed of equipment. Trains and supervises students
This position is NonExempt. Hours over 40 will be paid at Time and a Half.
