Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA license
• Experience working at a public company
• Public accounting experience
• Experience working at a manufacturing company in the life sciences space- Biotech or Pharma- that is Commercial and revenue generating
• Experience working at a company with manufacturing plants and a strong understanding of plant finance
• Experience working at an organization with a global presence

Preferred:

• M&A experience
• SAP experience
• Big 4 experience

Job Description:

A dynamic and rapidly expanding company is seeking an experienced Global Controller .

• Responsibilities:Accounting Operations: Oversee the planning, direction, and coordination of all accounting and reporting functions, including external reporting, plant controllership, and shared services.
• Month-End Closing: Manage a timely and accurate month-end close process, including variance analysis and account reconciliations, while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and local regulations.
• Technical Accounting: Supervise all technical accounting assessments, including drafting and reviewing policy memos and technical accounting positions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key liaison for cross-functional teams, supporting analytical needs and various strategic projects, including M&A and business development. Partner with the FP&A team on budget planning, forecasting, expense analysis, and internal reporting.
• Audit Preparation: Prepare materials for the Audit Committee and Board, offering insights into accounting trends, financial results, and special projects.
• System Optimization: Lead the development of training programs to enhance the finance team’s use of the ERP.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, and overall effectiveness within the accounting function.
• Stakeholder Management: Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, aligning strategies and action plans with organizational goals.
• Team Leadership: Lead and oversee key initiatives, team projects, and processes, providing direction and fostering team development.
• Audit Interface: Serve as the primary contact for internal and external auditors, providing necessary support and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Compliance and Controls: Act as a resource for internal audit and SOX compliance efforts, ensuring effective corrective action plans are established and maintained.
• Talent Development: Lead, retain, and develop a high-performing team by providing mentorship, feedback, and support to promote professional growth and achievement of individual and team goals.
• Plant Controllership Leadership: Lead the plant controllership team, optimizing inventory accounting and cost of goods sold processes while providing insights and technical expertise.
• SEC Filings: Oversee the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 8-K, 10-Q, and 10-K, along with earnings releases.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience working in an accounting capacity in a public manufacturing company.
• Proven experience as a global controller at a Global organization.
• CPA and Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
• Solid ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities with a proven capacity to multitask effectively.
• Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in large ERP systems (ideally Oracle or SAP)

• The Controller will partner with the finance leadership team, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Internal Audit. The Global Controller will identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function, ensuring the timely and accurate execution of financial processes, maintaining robust internal controls, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
