Title: Senior Accountant
Located: Waltham, MA(Hybrid, 1 day in office/4 remote)

Required:
- Public accounting
- Experience with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and financial reporting processes
- Degree in accounting
Preferred:
- CPA strongly preferred
- Experience working at a public biotech/pharmaceutical company experience is a plus. Especially if it is a smaller company
- 10k / 10 Q experience
Job Summary/Description: The responsibilities include the month end close, financial reporting, and coordination with external auditors . Seeking an accounting professional with a strong ability to work cross-functionally, in a fast past environment, with competing priorities.
The team and management are all about developing and mentoring their staff. Great opportunity to to work with a team that has both operational and public accounting backgrounds. This hire must have an understanding of accounting, financial reporting and internal controls.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the financial statement tie out process
- Understand core processes and work cross functionally to track financial milestones, projects, and partnerships
- Assist with the preparation and issuance of SEC financial filings (i.e. Form 10-K, Form 10-Q) and other filings
- Update financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A using Active Disclosure software
- Assist with the quarterly financial review and year-end financial audit process, including internal control testing
- Partner with the Senior Manager on research of accounting literature and apply technical U.S. GAAP standards to complex business transactions
- Monitor compliance with evolving accounting guidance, and assist with the implementation of new accounting pronouncement
- Assist with designated areas of the monthly close process (i.e. R&D accruals, equity & stock compensation, leases), including journal entry and account reconciliation preparation
- Lead and prepare materials related to monthly R&D accrual meetings with functional teams and third-party vendors
- Partner with commercial team and play key role in commercial accounting, including revenue, accounts receivable, gross-to-net, inventory and other ad hoc projects
- Support the development and maintenance of an effective system of internal controls and compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
- Support the accounting/finance team with various analyses and ad hoc projects
Required Skills:
- Prior small- to mid-sized public biotech/pharmaceutical company experience is a plus
- Ability to work cross functionally and collaborate with others
- Ability to shift gears quickly in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- CPA license (preferred)
- 3-5 years’ experience, preferably with a background in public accounting
- Strong knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, including US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and financial reporting processes
