Planet Vision Eyecare is a private optometry practice looking for a full-time, friendly and energetic receptionist to be a part of our caring team and positive environment. The ideal candidates will possess a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and a willingness to go above and beyond.
Pay rate will be commensurate with experience. Must have the ability to multitask in a high energy environment. 40 hour shifts a week, Monday-Friday, no weekends, no evenings. Paid holidays (major federal holidays) and paid time off.
Our applicant must be a dependable self-starter who is able to multitask, problem solve and work well under pressure.
Experience in a professional or medical setting is required.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting all patients and customers in a personalized manner
- Answering phones and scheduling appointments, keeping up the schedule quota with confirmed appointments
- Collecting the latest patient demographic and contact information verifying both medical and vision insurance benefits following data collection
- Corresponding with schedule coordinators to ensure patients inquiries are resolved
- Discussing professional fees, upselling Doctor prescribed treatments and wellness screenings
- Recommending our over-the-counter products and vitamin subscription advised from the Doctor
- Insurance verification and understanding (medical and vision plans), accuracy in pricing insurance copays for services
- General computer knowledge required, training on electronic health records and practice management software will be provided
- Personal enjoyment interacting with patients
- Ideal candidate is well spoken and chooses their words wisely, attempting to make all discussions personable and helpful
- Excitement to instruct patients in using our over-the-counter products
- Promoting practice and its doctors, reiterating the doctor's prescribed treatment plan
- Assist with referring patients to other providers
- Maintaining product inventory
- Invoicing the sale of services and products
- Maintaining a clean and organized reception area upholding the professionalism of our office and our mission statement abiding by the privacy policies of HIPAA etc.
Skills Needed:
- Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed patient expectations
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and be flexible with changing business needs in a team environment
- Ability to use simple math and have pricing knowledge to discuss professional fees
- Ability to listen and triage the needs of patients and fellow team members

- Sense of personal responsibility towards all facets of the position
