Utility Plant Operator- Manassas, VA 20110
PlanIT Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Utility Plant Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all utility plant equipment, building management systems, and associated auxiliary equipment. This position requires a strong background in commercial building maintenance and excellent technical skills.
Basic Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen and order to get a Secret Clearance
2 years of HVAC trade school or equivalent certification.
High school degree or equivalency.
Valid driver's license.
Minimum 5 Years Of Experience In Facilities Maintenance.
EPA CFC Universal certification.
Operate and maintain all utility plant equipment, including high-temperature hot water generators, centrifugal chillers, air compressors, cooling towers, and HVAC equipment.
Proficiency in hand and power tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and controls issues.
Familiarity with building management systems, computerized alarm and control systems, and general computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work from aerial lift platforms and ladders.
Ability to lift 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
The successful candidate will initially be assigned to 1st shift (7:30 am - 4:00 pm) for approximately 5 months for training purposes. Following training, the candidate will be transferred to 2nd shift (3:30 pm - 12:00 am) .
