Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper who excels in a busy environment handling diverse responsibilities such as financial reporting and engaging with customers and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Record Financial Transactions: Accurately enter all financial transactions into accounting software or ledgers, including purchases, receipts, and payments.
Maintain General Ledger: Ensure that all transactions are recorded correctly and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial information.
Reconcile Accounts: Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare Financial Statements: Generate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and assist with financial reporting for management.
Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, handle payments, post receivables to homeowner accounts, post late fees, and prepare delinquency letters.
Maintain Financial Records: Organize and maintain accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Enter Budgets: Enter budget figures in accounting software.
Assist With Audits: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Ensure Compliance: Stay updated with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
Perform General Administrative Duties: Assist with general office tasks related to accounting, including filing, data entry, and other administrative support as required.
Customer Service: Complete regularly scheduled customer service phone shifts. Interact with homeowners, board members and Community Managers in person, on the phone and through email.
Skills/ Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year experience or education in an accountant/bookkeeping role
- The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of Accounting Principles.
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills
- Positive and professional attitude
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Experience with TOPS and/or SmartWebs a plus
- Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Friday 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM
