Planned Parenthood Arizona (PPAZ) is Arizona’s largest reproductive health care provider, serving over 34,000 patients every year. GENERAL PRIORITIES
- If privileged for abortion services: Provides in clinic abortion and abortion by pill, performs and interprets ultrasound for assessment of pregnancy location, gestational dating, intraprocedure guidance as indicated and determination of successful pregnancy termination. Provides patient education, and administration of medications, as permitted by State regulations.
- Provides unbiased objective information on abortion, adoption and parenting as required by law and PPAZ clinical protocols. Provides support and responds to inquiries from abortion patients.
- Performs appropriate medical screening and procedures as indicated by clinical protocol. Interprets laboratory data and orders appropriate additional laboratory investigations when indicated. Consults with medical director for any care or management that deviates from PPAZ protocols and procedures or the PPFA Medical Standards and Guidelines.
- Provides counsel and advice on family planning methods to patients and receives and handles patient questions and problems relating to these methods. Dispenses, administers, and/or prescribes all contraceptive methods per PPAZ Formulary and for which the provider is privileged.
- Provides a full range of family planning services as offered by PPAZ including, but not limited to, reproductive health exams, sexually transmitted infection screening, diagnosis and treatment, symptomatic examinations and diagnosis for both men and women.
- Covers, as assigned, abortion or family planning services at clinics experiencing clinician vacancies.
- Supervises trainees, including medical students and residents, and participates in the on-boarding and continued education of the licensed and non-licensed staff, as assigned by PPAZ.
- Participates in the quality assurance program as directed by PPAZ, including chart reviews, audits, and health center observations. Attends quarterly meetings with the medical director and other contract physicians. Participates in in-service educational activities of the agency.
- Participates in any research or clinical trials as assigned by PPAZ and only after proper research training (CITI) has been completed.
- Contractor agrees to adhere strictly to Planned Parenthood's Affiliate Manual of Medical Standards and Guidelines, to Planned Parenthood Federation of America's Manual of Medical Standards and Guidelines (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Standards"), and to all applicable laws regulating the practice of medicine, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Critical to this role, employees must exercise discretion in acquiring and disseminating confidential and proprietary information including any patient PHI acquired physically and or electronically.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Doctor of Medicine - Certified MD or DO from an accredited medical or osteopathic school.
- Licensed to practice medicine in Arizona.
- Active DEA number required.
- BLS certification.
- Arizona prescribing and dispensing privileges required.

Salary : $125 - $150
