Under the direct supervision of the site’s Health Center Director and in coordination with clinical leadership, the Health Center Manager (HCM) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the health center at PPLM including: monitoring the health center budget and visit volume patient trends, and actively problem solve issues that affect the health center. The health center manager works collaboratively with the Director, site-specific center management team and staff to plan, implement, and lead quality improvement strategies (PDSAs) as required for optimal health center performance; using data to guide decision making. The HCM maintains positive collaborative working relationships with all staff members and external stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilites
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the Health Center through appropriate allocation of time(40% on the floor with staff, 20% administrative duties, 20% check ins with staff, 10% self-development, and 10% staff development)
- Supports a work culture that reflects PPLM’s values regarding patients and staff and PPLM’s strategic plan while creating and sustaining a collaborative, highly functioning, and productive work environment
- Works in collaboration with the Health Center Director to develop and monitor the annual budget for the health center
- Works diligently to meet volume and productivity goals; including determining the template for patient schedules
- Uses data dashboards and management tools to improve patient satisfaction, productivity and health center patient flow
- Serves as the primary supervisor for unlicensed Team Leads within the health center. Monitors, and manages performance of health center staff in partnership with licensed clinical leadership
- Works in conjunction with Human Resources to hire, retain and manage disciplinary action (when necessary) of all unlicensed clinical staff
- Works collaboratively with other PPLM departments and staff to establish and maintain high standards of practice for regulatory compliance including HIPAA, OSHA, PPFA, and MDPH and Title X in partnership with clinical and operational leadership
- Acts as designated clinic administrator and ensures compliance with applicable statutes and regulations. When not physically present on site, assign a staff person with appropriate skills and training to act in their place
- Ensures cash management and inventory systems are robust to prevent misappropriation
- Manages appointment templates and works collaboratively with patient administration staff to direct changes to the template to maximize productivity and positive patient experience
- In partnership with the Non-licensed Staff Trainer and clinical and operational leadership, ensures unlicensed staff are adequately oriented and trained to offer excellent customer service and high-quality care to patients
- Works with the Health Center Operations Coordinator to ensure that site licenses are active
- Works with Facilities to ensure that facilities and equipment are maintained
- Manages and addresses patient complaints and risk management issues in partnership with clinical and operational leadership
- Works closely with Human Resources, IT, Finance, Facilities/Purchasing to ensure that systems(inventory management) are functioning effectively and meeting the needs of the health center
- Other tasks and responsibilities as needed
- BA/BS preferred. Equivalent, relevant experience equally considered
- Health care experience preferred
- 3- 7 years of successful staff management experience preferred
- Bilingual preferred (Mandarin, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, or Portuguese strongly preferred)
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills, computer skills, and interpersonal and managerial skills. Must be highly organized with the ability to perform consistently well under stress
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team, develop and follow-through on ideas, and lead staff
- Commitment to and experience in positions focused on customer service and satisfaction
- Commitment to PPLM’s mission and goals. Prior experience in health care setting preferred
- Willingness to work during the evenings or on Saturdays as needed
- Willingness and ability to travel to other health center sites as required
