Health Educator II – Central MN
Pay: $20.60-$35.00 per hour (experience will be compensated)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Shift times: Monday-Friday, between 8:30am-4:30pm. (1 evening/week during program season and occasional weekends for community programs.)
Location: St. Cloud Health Center - 451 E Saint Germain St, Suite 100, St Cloud, MN 56304 and Alexandria Health Center, 503 N Nokomis St, Alexandria, MN 56308
Job type: Non-Exempt
Travel: Regular travel between St. Cloud, Alexandria and Wilmar is expected. (1-2 days/week in each location) Occasional travel throughout MN as well

Job Summary:
Under immediate supervision of the Sr. Regional Manager of Education Operations, the Health Educator II performs a wide variety of functions. With the support of the Community Education and Engagement team at PPNCS, the Health Educator II is responsible for building and sustaining community partnerships, facilitating youth leadership development, and implementing peer education programs. Additionally, they deliver comprehensive human sexuality education to diverse learners in and around St. Cloud, Willmar, and Alexandria, Minnesota. The Health Educator II also takes on additional responsibilities, including peer mentorship, administrative tasks, and contributing to curriculum and program development, while promoting reproductive health services to help achieve the goals of the Education and Engagement department and supporting the mission of Planned Parenthood North Central States. Health Educator IIs are advocates in implementing our mission of “Advancing and protecting sexual and reproductive healthcare for all.” They may perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- At least one-year experience in youth development, health education, public health, or related area.
- Experience working with culturally and racially diverse populations.
- LGBTQ community experience
- Familiarity with the network of organizations and agencies serving youth throughout central Minnesota.
- Access to independent transportation, valid driver’s license and auto insurance with willingness to drive to different clinic and/or program sites as needed
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver sexuality education programming for high school and college students in the St. Cloud and Alexandria areas in a variety of settings and locations such as schools, community organizations, correctional facilities and treatment centers.
- Plan, organize, coordinate and provide staffing for displays, exhibits, and promotional efforts at health fairs and community celebrations and events in Willmar, St. Cloud & Alexandria, MN.
- Develop and deliver multi-session and peer sexuality education programs targeted to audiences at highest risk for unintended pregnancy and STIs, and those who can most directly influence them; develop curricula and support materials for these programs as needed.
- Plan and prioritize annual work plans and budgets for community education with the Regional Manager of Education & Engagement.
- Evaluate, promote and disseminate accurate and current information and curricula relating to sexuality; keep current on related periodicals, journals, books and curricula, and films.
- Compile, record, and evaluate outreach and educational statistics and prepare reports as needed.
- Participate in appropriate professional meetings and work groups to build coalitions and partnerships with other community groups on educational programming; and build and maintain professional relationships.
- Dedicate time to professional skill development around Diversity Equity and Inclusion work. At least 10% of time or 4 hours per week for a 40 hour work week.
