In support of Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York (PPCWNY)'s mission, the Crisis Advocate has responsibility for providing crisis intervention, advocacy and outreach and education to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. This work is done in the community, at schools, hospitals, courts, and at all partner agencies including correctional facilities. This position provides direct service to a variety of clients of all ages and backgrounds in multiple counties including Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming. This position is based in Monroe County and requires travel to all five counties.
Essential Functions
- 85% Responds to crisis calls providing referrals, emotional support and accompaniment by phone and in-person at hospitals, schools, courts, law enforcement agencies, correctional facilities, and District Attorney's offices
- 5% Engages with professionals from organizations such as criminal justice, law enforcement, medical, victim advocacy, education and human services to make certain there will be consistent collaboration between organizations, ensuring an effective and sensitive community response to the victims of sexual assault and domestic violence
- 5% Provides accurate documentation for client records, as required by funders
- 5% Assists in ensuring provision of RESTORE services at family court, including filing family offense petitions

Work Schedule This is a full-time position; regular schedule will be 40 hours per week. Some evening and weekend duties, as well as on call responsibilities.

In alignment with these efforts, the pay for this position ranges from $19.00 to $22.06 / hour. Actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by law.
