The Purchasing Manager will lead and streamline purchasing processes. This role is responsible for managing vendor relationships, optimizing inventory levels, reducing costs, and ensuring the timely acquisition of high-quality goods and services. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a track record of driving procurement efficiencies and maintaining accurate records. This individual must also demonstrate alignment with the organization’s values and the vital work we do to ensure high-quality, evidence-based reproductive health care.

- Must demonstrate high-level computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
- This position requires travel to other sites and locations; if using a personal vehicle, a valid MD driver’s license and current auto insurance in compliance with MD vehicle code minimum requirements are required.
- Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPM locations and by all PPM employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty and fundamental responsibility of all employees.
- Procurement Management
- • Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process, including identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.

- • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and regularly evaluate vendor performance to ensure quality and reliability.

- • Collaborate with health center teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring proper stock levels to support business demand without overstocking.

- • Identify and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs, improve efficiency, and ensure competitive pricing.

- • Continuously assess and improve purchasing processes and workflows to increase efficiency and support company goals.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience required.
- Ability to travel 30% to all PPM Health Centers (Baltimore, Towson, Owings Mills, Annapolis, Easton and Waldorf).
- Must possess a valid Maryland State issued Driver's License.
- Ability to analyze contracts and effectively communicate and interact with clients, staff, vendors, and the public in a professional manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a range of people.
- Highly organized, with the ability to record information in a logical manner.
- Proficiency in Hybrent Procurement System highly preferred.
- Proficiency in EPIC EHR System highly preferred.
- Experience with Title X, 340B and 318 program highly preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed is required.
- Requires strong problem-solving skills, organization, judgment, and tact.
- Must be able to function efficiently despite distractions and interruptions.
- Ability to organize, set priorities, and be flexible while maintaining attention to detail.

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
