STARTING SALARY: $88,000 per year

Position Description
Under the supervision of and in collaboration with the Chief Medical Operating Officer and other clinical leaders, the Regional Nurse Manager leads registered nurses working in with multidisciplinary team to provide quality patient-centered care. In addition to providing on-site supervision and support to the nursing staff, they will provide direct nursing and patient care services in support of the Planned Parenthood of Michigan (PPMI) mission in the Northwest Region.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead a team of registered nurses in delivering evidence-based and patient centered abortion care.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices for nurse administered moderate sedation and abortion care.
- Be a clinical expert on safe medication practices and lead clinical teams across the affiliate in medication safety improvement projects.
- Support training of licensed staff on airway management and safe sedation practices as required by PPFA standards.
- Collaborate with Health Center Managers and clinical leadership to identify, implement, and reinforce workflows aimed at addressing inefficiencies and increasing quality of care.
- Work with abortion care providers to standardize clinical workflows when appropriate, and coordinate patient-specific modifications to these standards when necessary.
- Partner with Health Center Managers to ensure that regular briefs, debriefs, and team huddles are attended by nursing staff and facilitated effectively and efficiently.
- Assign roles to nursing staff to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Implement systems to ensure nurse responsibilities within the clinic are completed. Examples include medication inventory, monthly crash-cart and controlled substance audits.
- Develop and implement a high-quality, comprehensive, and standardized onboarding curricula for nursing staff with a focus on quality, safety, and patient experience.
- Facilitate regular Medical Emergency Drills at procedural abortion sites within their region in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Director of Quality.
- Participate in completion of clinical audits and provide leadership and expertise in clinical quality improvement projects related to nursing functions.
- Provide or coordinate continuing education and professional development opportunities for nursing staff.
- Provide direct and timely feedback to nursing staff in a constructive and professional manner.
- Execute regular skills and performance evaluations for nurses under Regional Nurse Manager supervision.
- Manage nursing staff attendance and performance in accordance with PPMI policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience
Required
- Ability and comfort working with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles, in a manner that engages on-going self-reflection, humility, and continual learning required.
- Strong recordkeeping/writing/organizational/computer skills as well as experience working in Electronic Medical Records.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Michigan.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient care and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick decisions.
- Proficiency in medication administration, IV therapy, and other nursing procedures.
- Familiarity with infection control and patient safety protocols.
- Ability to provide trauma-informed, patient-centered care.
