Snapshot of key accountabilities of the LPN :
- Provides pre-abortion education and counseling including review of medical records and post-procedure contraceptive method options.
- Assists physician and patient during abortion procedure and ensures a safe and aseptic environment is maintained.
- Start IVs and administer intravenous solutions and IV medications.
- Manages care for patients in recovery room following abortion procedure, including assessing condition, monitoring vital signs and initiating emergency protocols as necessary.
- Coordinates patient discharge and scheduling follow up visits and provides information and education to patients on their post-abortion care.
- Carries out clinician orders for dispensing contraceptive supplies and assuring compliance with pharmacy standards.
- After appropriate training and sign-off, provides ultrasound services and participates centralized follow up activities.
- Assists in the delivery and coordination of quality healthcare to PPSENFL's valued patients.
