Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon (PPSO) has been dedicated to providing expert reproductive health care and sexuality education in Southwestern Oregon for over 55 years. PPSO provides more than 30,000 patient visits each year at four health centers and via telehealth. PPSO is also regarded as the region’s most respected provider of medically accurate sexuality education for young people and adults, as well as training programs for professionals who work with youth and families. Education and training programs make over 10,000 contacts each year, transforming the lives of young people in southwestern Oregon.
PPSO’s essential health services include breast and cervical cancer screenings, well-woman annual exams, birth control, abortion care, LGBTQ health, STI prevention, testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, PrEP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis), HPV vaccinations, vasectomies, and more.

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Finance oversees all aspects of Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon’s (PPSO) accounting, finance, financial reporting, business analytics, internal controls, asset management, payroll, and patient services revenue cycle operations. This position oversees all financial aspects of PPSO and drives the overall financial strategy and planning, as well as provides assessment of the financial performance of the company, possible risks, and investments.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Director of Finance is responsible for making value out of data and can analyze, interpret and put the findings to use. The Director of Finance is responsible for providing financial reports and analysis to the CEO, Finance Committee, Board of Directors and PPFA when applicable. Additionally this position ensures the effective management and professional development of staff within the Finance and Revenue Cycle departments while fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
Essential Duties
Finance
- Track the flow of financial information through the business cycles, consistently and accurately assess, analyze, and report PPSO’s financial status to CEO.
- Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the CEO and leadership team members; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keep leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
- Responsible for performing financial and predictive analytics and structure the data accordingly.
- Translate business needs into realistic functional specifications and solutions.
Analysis
Manage and develop automated and standardized reporting solutions to predict trends, develop strategy, and evaluate organizational performance.Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of services, expenses, and capital expenditures.Prepare in-depth statistical analyses, reporting results and offering insights and / or solutions to the leadership team.Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.Manage the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modeling tools.Revenue Cycle
Oversee revenue cycle management; accountability to review and report on key data metrics monthly.Partner with CEO and COO to renegotiate payer contracts annually.Ensure accurate patient billing and ensure accurate patient payments.Provide quarterly and monthly financial reports, including P&Ls to all health centers and departments.Payroll
Oversee payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees while adhering to applicable laws and regulations.Maintain accurate payroll records and stay up to date on payroll compliance requirements.Work with payroll vender (currently ADP) to ensure system is set up appropriately and accurately.Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability payments and non-taxable wages.Ensure year-end tax forms and government filings are completed on timeFinance Team Oversight and Management
Oversee staff responsible for accounting, accounts payable, payroll, and accounts receivable.Maintain finance system to ensure consistent communication with executive and senior leadership teams.Improve system and team performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and understand ROI.Annual Audit
Oversee all audit and internal control operations.Ensure regulatory compliance with current not-for-profit requirements.File charitable and corporate tax returns.Support leadership team and departments with in-depth analysis.Partner with the CEO to lead discussion at the Finance Committee of the Board, delivering clear, impactful presentation on critical financial matters to the Finance Committee, Board of Directors, and leadership team.Support Ad-Hoc Reporting and analysis of trends.Actively participate in affiliate’s accreditation process.Maintain confidentiality at all times.This position is eligible for hybrid work with in-person requirements in office as necessary. This position also may require travel between different PPSO health centers on an as-needed basis.

Minimum Required Qualifications
