JOB SUMMARY
The East Tennessee Grassroots Organizer will carry out grassroots advocacy work and implement strategic plans to build and engage Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and North Mississippi (PPTNM) and Tennessee Advocates for Planned Parenthood's (TAPP) bases of supporters in east Tennessee.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

- Implements a strategic organizing plan to build support for Planned Parenthood in east Tennessee through local and state legislative advocacy, civic training & education, voter registration & turnout and volunteer-led action councils.
- Engages, fosters relationships, and mobilizes volunteers to carry out Planned Parenthood's grassroots organizing plan via one-on-ones, group meetings, phone / text, and email. Such as,
Each week, reaching out to a list of 100 new supporters to build connections and strengthen engagement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES FOR THIS POSITION :
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
EXPERIENCE : Political, campaign and / or community organizing experience. At least 3 years of professional experience is preferred. Experience (volunteer or paid) recruiting, training, and mobilizing a team of 10 or more volunteers / members preferred.
COMPENSATION / BENEFITS PROGRAM :
Other : Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Full-time access to a car and a valid driver's license is required; some travel required.
