Position : HIV Program Specialist
Responsible to : HIV Program Manager
Schedule : 30 hours / week, part-time, benefits-eligible
The schedule Varies to fit programming primarily evenings and weekends for community outreach-related work.
Onsite / time in the community : 80%

Position Salary Range $25.28 - $30.19 Per hour
Starting Pay Although our full pay range is included above, the budgeted hiring range for this position is $25.28 - $ 27.73 Per hour.

Conversational Spanish Speakers may earn an additional $1.25 / hr. upon passing a test with a score of 9 out of 12
The Objective : In this grant-funded position you will provide outreach and sexual health education to the community and / or specified priority populations.
Success : You will know you are successful when your communities have increased sexual health knowledge and linkage to care and resources.
Snapshot : Your days will consist of meeting with community members and partners, providing outreach, and teaching 1 : 1 and group education sessions. You will work flexible hours with occasional weekends and evenings. You will travel locally within our region and nationally occasionally.
Qualifications : You are very comfortable discussing sexuality, and have some experience in community work, education, health care, or something similar. You are skilled at reaching out to different communities, facilitating groups of various sizes and makeups, and you consistently communicate ethically and effectively. You have a HS diploma, GED, or HSE. If you have a college degree and / or speak an additional language(s) other than English that is a plus.

Primary Areas of Responsibility / Essential Functions :
Deliver Outstanding Sexual Health Education and Outreach : The core of your job is to represent PPRM while doing specialized outreach and education, ensuring you effectively build others' knowledge, understanding, and capacity within the HIV Program. Participants feel better informed and more empowered as a result of their interactions with you. You use data to monitor progress and measure success, learn from what works, and look for ways to increase reach. To do this, you will :
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with outside organizations in an effort to develop opportunities for PPRM services, educational programs, and specialized outreach to priority populations.
- Meet the goals of the grant around HIV testing, PrEP services, education, outreach, etc. by connecting clients to appropriate PPRM and community resources.
- Use technology to assist in data entry, delivering group / individual education sessions and communicating with community members.
- Administer intakes, assessments and interviews to program participants.
- Assist in the development of innovative strategies to improve community education and outreach, including continual revision of curricula, outreach plans, materials and evaluation strategies.
- Maintain and promote program goals and objectives.
- Collect and monitor program data for tracking and to inform monthly / annual reporting in collaboration with program manager.
- Collaborate closely with HIV Programs Manager to coordinate schedules and plan events.
