SUMMARY
The Community Engagement Specialist plays a key role in fostering relationships, activating key stakeholder groups, and supporting fundraising efforts through events and engagement initiatives. This position will lead interactions with committees, alumni, board members, and other groups and manage fundraising events. The ideal candidate is an organized and proactive relationship-builder with experience in event planning and stakeholder engagement.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Stakeholder & Group Engagement
● Activate, organize, and engage PPYL, alumni, and other key groups to support
fundraising and community-building efforts.
● Serve as the primary liaison for event committees and subcommittees, ensuring clear
communication and coordination.
● Facilitate and strengthen committee and group interactions, ensuring alignment with
fundraising goals.
Fundraising & Special Events
● Plan and execute existing fundraising events including Roses for Roe, annual Gala, and
Cookie Grabs, ensuring smooth operations and successful outcomes.
● Identify opportunities for new fundraising initiatives to enhance donor engagement and
revenue generation.
● Oversee event logistics, including venue coordination, outreach, sponsorships, and on-
site execution.
Collaboration & Communication
● Work collaboratively with marketing and program teams to maximize community
engagement.
● Develop and implement strategies to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
● Provide support for volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement related to events
and initiatives.
Miscellaneous
● Performs other related duties as assigned by the VP of Development
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
● Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience
Experience
● 3-5 years of experience in community engagement and event management, with a
proven track record of successfully planning, executing, and evaluating events that
foster strong relationships and drive engagement.
Skills
● Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage and mobilize volunteers,
alumni, and board members.
● Proven ability to plan and execute events, manage budgets, and oversee logistics.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to
detail.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and event management tools (e.g.,
Eventbrite, Salesforce, Classy).
Physical Demands
● Flexibility in work hours, as some evenings and occasional weekend hours are
necessary
● Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
● Occasional regional travel for events

Salary Range
$70,000 based on experience
