- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Experience teaching in grades PK-3
- Experience with diverse student populations and knowledge of and/or experience with developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood.
- Additional certification(s) such as ESL/Bilingual, Special Education, Reading/Literacy, and secondary content area(s) are preferred.

Performance Responsibilities
- Understands professional development around best practice theoretical models, philosophies of learning, and the scope and sequences of instruction at all developmental levels.
- Facilitates instructional support for standards-aligned learning plans and common assessments; collaboratively coordinates local and state assessments; analyzes benchmarking and progress-monitoring data that establishes shared accountability for student growth and achievement.
- Supports teacher proficiency in assessing the effectiveness of the instructional strategies used with students; suggests appropriate adjustments to increase achievement; coordinates data analysis and facilitates discussion around student results with appropriate teachers and grade level teams.
- Collaborates effectively with all colleagues and support staff to coordinate ongoing improvement in effective assessment, planning, adapting, and delivering of effective instruction.
- Reads, interprets and communicates research and exemplary instructional practices, applying them to collaborative discussions and decisions about assessment, curriculum, instruction, material selection, and programs.
- Collaborates to guide the evaluation and selection of instructional resources and materials, including textbooks, trade books, materials for students with special needs, and appropriate technology.
- Participates in the design, alignment and implementation of the building and district instructional programs, as well as early intervention, accelerated programs, summer school, and after school programs.
- Provides professional development support, including peer coaching and in-class observation opportunities, to instructional staff; models best practice instructional strategies with students in all educational settings.
- Collaborates to support district and school curricular goals and identifies resources; builds effective partnerships with community members, agencies, and universities; and designs effective staff development support experiences.
- Maintains records of staff support experiences and student outcomes including: all collaborative meetings, PLC team coaching, in-class observations, professional development, assessment and progress monitoring activities with student data, and parent communication and/or training.
- Supports home-school connection through communication with instructional staff as they provide parent support through: individual conferences, written communications, parent inservices, parent literacy events and training, or other appropriate meetings/events; seeks administrative support for childcare, translation services, etc.
- Respects confidentiality and maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
- Performs all assigned duties, serves on or attends building or district committee meetings, and attends staff meetings as may be requested or as established by school policy.
- Adheres to the published policies and procedures of the district.
- Performs such other not specifically enumerated duties as may be requested by the Board of Education, superintendent, principal or established by the School Code.
