Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Development
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state and national standards for 7th-grade math and science.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, and English language learners.
- Incorporate hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences, labs, and real-world problem-solving into the curriculum.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, including small group instruction, technology integration, and project-based learning.
- Assess student understanding through formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies that align with school policies and reinforce school core values.
- Build strong relationships with students and serve as a mentor and role model.
- Work collaboratively with the leadership team and other instructional teams to ensure consistency and alignment of curriculum and instructional best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and apply best practices in teaching and learning.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and academic growth.
- Engage in school events, advisory activities, and extracurricular opportunities that contribute to a positive school culture.
- Experience with Math Workshop and small group instruction.
- Familiarity with WIN time structure and differentiated intervention strategies.
- Ability to integrate technology and STEM-based activities into instruction.
- Commitment to the middle school philosophy and student-centered learning.
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Education (PEL)
- Valid teaching license/certification for middle school math and science (or eligibility for certification).
- Experience teaching at the middle school level is preferred.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Passion for fostering student curiosity and academic achievement.
