Duties
- Schedule surgical procedures based on physician availability and patient needs.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations as required.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to scheduling.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their surgery details, including preparation instructions and post-operative care plans.
- Maintain accurate records of scheduled surgeries and ensure all relevant information is documented correctly.
- Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate care plans and address any scheduling conflicts.
- Utilize medical coding knowledge, including ICD-10, to assist in documentation processes.
- Provide clerical support as needed, including data entry and 10 key typing tasks.
Requirements
- Proficiency in dental terminology and familiarity with Medicare regulations is preferred.
- Experience with insurance verification processes is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to review documentation thoroughly for compliance with medical standards.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
- Previous experience in office management or a healthcare setting is a plus.
