Position Overview: The GTP Shift foreman is the management representative onsite during their respective shift. This position is critical for the continued operation of the facility. This position is responsible for assuring personnel compliance with GTP operating standards and all regulations pertaining to Environmental, Health, and Safety at the facility.
Responsibilities Would Include:
- In matters relating to site infrastructure, works closely with various functions including GTP’s Environmental and Safety Department to ensure operations are in compliance with regulatory requirements from public authorities, government agencies, and local residents. Be familiar with and enforce facility and departmental safety practices / policies. Routinely meet with shift personnel to discuss and address any safety concerns. Lead Emergency Response Coordination.
- Maintain communication with all shift personnel and perform periodic checks in each department. Have personal contact with supervision responsible for each department during the shift. Report to proper management personnel on major problems that occur on the shift. Follow through with departmental supervision on any issues and establish priorities when necessary.

Assist operators to work through equipment issues and alarms. Calls in appropriate additional help when needed. Address Employee Time & Attendance, Scheduling, and Vacation Requests, when necessary. Coordinate employee call-off coverage. Respond, address, monitor, and report all safety and environmental events including:
- Any release that could impact the environment (air, water, soil, etc).
- Any safety and medical related incidents.
- Assist guardhouse with security issues. Ensure facility gates are opened and locked at the proper times. Monitor the various production areas and buildings around the facility.
- Coordinate maintenance activities when requested. Be of assistance to all groups in carrying out their functions. Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma; Degree in a technical, engineering or relevant field will be an advantage. 6-years’ experience in a manufacturing facility with a chemical process. 3 years relevant supervisory experience. First Aid & CPR will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of global plant operations. Understanding Emergency response roles and responsibilities. Understanding Environmental & Safety notifications and reporting.
- Awareness of maintenance personnel, maintenance policies and procedures (LOTO, Confined space, Hot work permits, Line breaking, highly hazardous procedures, Above Ground Storage regulations, etc. HAZMAT Awareness level training (24 hours) & Annual Refresher (8 hours). Incident Commander Training (8 Hours).
- Drug/Alcohol screening procedures. Be able to administer first aid. Written & verbal communication with all groups associated with 24/7 utility operations. Production, Maintenance, Purchasing, Plant Engineering, Construction, R&D Analytical, Safety, and Environmental. Familiarity with OSHA, DEP, and DOT regulations. Highly Hazardous materials, Process Management Programs (PMPs), water & air quality, chemical transportation by rail.
- Combinations of strong social skills with an assertive personality and willingness to address and document personnel issues. Document progressive discipline and corrective actions. Enforce safety guidelines. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Organizational and leadership abilities. Advanced skills in MS Office.
