Job Function:
Perform, coordinate, assign and direct warehouse dock activities to obtain maximum utilization of personnel and equipment including sampling and preparation of incoming raw materials
Principle Duties:
- Ensure compliance with prescribed safety practice and quality work standards. Assistance Supervisor in maintaining compliance in safety. Authorize and schedule all lift truck service and other work requests as required.
- Collect, identify, weigh, label and obtain samples of specified quantities from containers of incoming purchased and toll materials. Process hard scrap material through furnace ovens and jaw crusher, tungsten concentrate through grinders in warehouse and soft scrap using defined process. Prepare all raw material samples, as required, including identification/labeling in specified vial or container. Enter and retrieve data on computer using prescribed systems. (SAP, QM). Transport and deliver samples to respective labs for analysis and testing. Day travel as requested to sample products at offsite warehouse.
- Perform, plan, coordinate and direct operator(s) in tungsten scrap sorting area to effectively obtain maximum utilization of personnel and equipment. Maintain records by entering and retrieving data utilizing SAP transactions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of lots. Operate label system to identify material with GTP part number and lot number. Direct, train and instruct employees as necessary
- Efficiently operate SAP to include, but not limited to, releasing, issue and confirming production orders for cobalt shipments staged in warehouse; receipt tungsten products, and other materials as needed, against purchase order or toll orders; look up inventory locations and various tasks in SAP.
- Oversee and train forklift operators on assigned duties such as operating Drexel, transporting products between departments and warehouse, dock operations, emptying hoppers and other task performed by drivers. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Utilize RF radio frequency units, interact with customers, and change priorities in order to meet internal or external customer demands. Notify designated personnel of any irregularities or unusual occurrences in process, materials, or equipment.
- Perform each phase of the operation in full compliance with all company, state, and/or federal safety and environmental regulations. Understanding & knowledge of hazardous material including packaging, labeling, transport and storage requirements. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned area(s), machines, tools, and equipment. Observe GTP policies at all times
EDUCATION:
High school graduate. GED
REQUIREMENTS:
- Pass visual, hearing, and physical tests and successfully complete
- Powered Industrial Truck Operator training course per standard policy.
- SAP and Microsoft knowledge and/or experience preferred. Neat and legible handwriting. Good communication skills and attention to detail required.
