About the Internship:
Our goal is to provide you with a comprehensive learning experience that prepares you for a career at Plant Construction Company, L.P. As an intern, you will be paired with a Project Manager mentor who will offer guidance and support throughout your internship. You will be assigned to a specific project, allowing you to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of project management, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, construction technology, field operations, office operations, materials, and compliance with building codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct quantity take-offs and reach out to vendors and subcontractors to obtain proposals.
- Assist in maintaining project records and documentation.
- Prepare shop drawings for review and approval.
- Assist with daily field reports.
- Participate in safety inspections and complete safety training.
- Log and process project submittals.
- Support cost control, inventory management, scheduling efforts, and problem-solving initiatives.
- Collaborate with project managers and superintendents, taking on responsibilities and tasks.
- Coordinate and monitor subcontractor activities, verify work completion, and provide progress updates.
- Process change orders and work orders efficiently.
- Arrange for utility services and secure necessary permits.
- Oversee punch list activities to ensure project completion.
- Expedite material deliveries and assist in documenting and preparing claims.
- Create charts and formal reports
- Participate in tours of other job sites as opportunities arise.
- Receive training in software such as Procore, Sage Timberline 300, and other relevant databases.
Schedule: This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours of work per week.
