Position Summary
This position is responsible for driving plant demand and increasing awareness of PDSI brands by engaging current and prospective Woody Ornamental and Perennial growers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

- Drive program fee revenue by expanding our Network and Associate Grower base across all brands.
- Sell liners to new and existing growers.
- Visit Network Growers at least annually, providing education on new products, brand standards, and support programs available to them.
- Provide market intelligence to ensure accurate production planning of liner sales for existing and new varieties.
- Assist the R&D and Business Development teams in vetting new plants.
- Assist in identifying and vetting new breeder partnerships for PDSI.
- Present the PDSI brands to prospective growers, IGC, re-wholesale, and chain store customers.
- Collaborate with the PDSI team to facilitate new product launches with key retail and re-wholesale partners.
- Ensure brand standard alignment at retail outlets and nurseries.
- Participate in chain store and IGC store walks regularly.
- Support the program by assisting the VP of Operations with program rule enforcement, including meeting inventory reporting requirements and program fee reporting/payment deadlines.
- Represent PDSI at trade shows, including set-up and teardown of the booth.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration is preferred.
- 10 years of experience in the nursery industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the sale of nursery products.
Competencies
- Strong business acumen and understanding of the woody ornamental shrub supply chain.
- Strong leadership traits which include presentation and influencing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent organizational/time management skills, prioritization, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Proficient computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally lifts/pulls/carries up to 30 pounds.
- Frequently required to stand, sit, talk, and hear, and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.
- On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, kneel, or reach above the shoulders.
- Operate typical office equipment such as a computer, telephone, copy machine, etc.
