Bookkeeper

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. We are a small Methodist Preschool. We are looking for someone to oversees our daily finances such payroll, tuition, and data entry into payroll system and school communicating program.

Responsibilities

• Working very closely with director of the school on building and maintaining a budget for the school.
• Communicating with director, administrative staff about the budget on regular basis
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Prepare financial reports according to the Director of school .
• Data entry of tuition and other finances
• Manage tax-related tasks, ensuring timely filing and compliance with regulations.
• Utilizing account software such Quick Books, APD, and/or Heartland for payroll
• Support public accounting functions as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting department.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and technical accounting practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software; experience/ ability to learn other software.
• Ability to perform accurate journal entries and maintain organized financial records.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes and public accounting practices is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with director of school and other church/school staff

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
