We are looking for world-class talent to tackle challenging projects that will help power the planet with 100% clean energy.

First, the good news : Humans have installed a little over 1 TW of cumulative solar capacity over the last 20 years - solar is now the cheapest source of energy generation around the globe.

Now, the challenge : Humans have to build 3 TW of solar capacity every year for the next 30 years. Planted is creating new technology to overhaul how we design, develop, and build solar power resources to make this happen.

And, we need help. We're expanding our team of curious, collaborative, and hands-on engineers and operators. Come own large parts of product, company, and business development and help make our big plans a reality!

About The Role

As a Deployment Engineer, you will work closely with our Product, Deployment, and Commercial teams to design and execute solar projects. You will own critical pieces of our project development process and execute on solar development from site origination, interconnection, zoning, preliminary site design, RFPs, to construction management to support the solar build out. Successful candidates will be curious and analytical, with strong leadership and communication skills, and a desire to be a part of a growing, early-stage company. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a talented and cross-functional engineering and business team with a high degree of empowerment and autonomy.

The salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $150,000 plus stock options and benefits. Pay within the range is based on candidate experience, job-specific skills, education, and work location. The target experience for the position is 2 - 6 years.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Own solar power plant delivery from preliminary design to completed construction
Perform site analysis and financial modeling necessary to evaluate risks and opportunities at potential solar power plant projects
Support internal and external resources to help negotiate LOIs and master framework contracts
Support the creation and improvement of development and project management tools, processes, and standard operating procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

3 years experience in engineering, physics, math or analytical problem solving role

Strong communication, organization, and relationship management skills

Financial modeling expertise using Microsoft Excel, python or other modeling programs

Hands-on ownership mentality, curiosity, and resourcefulness

Ability to navigate ambiguity, reduce reasonable risks, and make good decisions with imperfect knowledge

Nice to have : Experience with solar industry software (e.g., PVsyst, Anderson Optimization)
