What are the responsibilities and job description for the PM Host/Hostess - Part-Time position at Planters Inn?
Job Summary: Warmly greets guests to Peninsula Grill Restaurant to ensure a welcoming and inviting environment for guests to dine. Seats guests, establishes rapport, and assists with restaurant service during busy periods. Follows all Forbes and brand standards.
Job Duties
- Takes reservations via phone and in person.
- Greets and assists guests in a professional and prompt manner, using guests' names when possible.
- Seats guests at their tables, establishes rapport in a genuine manner and provides menus.
- Monitors dining room to anticipate guests' needs. Assists guests or communicates their needs to servers and server assistants.
- Assists in clearing off and resetting tables during busy periods.
- Maintains host stand in a clean and organized manner.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 - 2 years previous experience in a Forbes 4 or 5 star restaurant preferred
- Experience using Opentable preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service focus
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk during entire shift, talk, hear, reach, bend and grasp
- Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move items up to 10 lbs.
