How you will contribute :
We are seeking a passionate and mission-driven Research Associate (RA) in Analytical Biochemistry / Physiology with hands-on experience using basic lab techniques, data analytical skills and a problem-identifying / solving attitude. The individual will be responsible for ensuring biomass quality using biochemical assays and will design & execute experiments to improve our understanding of duckweed composition & changes in protein & carbohydrate content across different strains & environments. Through a focus on rapid experimentation, rigorous data analysis, and through working collaboratively with our team of RA's, Scientists, and Operators, the individual will have the opportunity to make an immediate and sustainable impact on the development of the company.
What you will be working on :
- Perform biochemical assays to ensure biomass quality using a host of QC assays including extraction of our flagship Rubi protein product using high throughput methods at small scale.
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment focused on defining the carbohydrate & protein composition of biomass along with measurement of other small molecules of interest present in our culture media & in-process sample streams.
- Design, execute, and analyze lab and field experiments to improve the quality and quantity of our plant protein and to increase biomass productivity.
