Production Lead
Plants to Food is a manufacturer of plant based spice blends, dessert mixes, condiments, dressings, salsas, cashew based cheese and various sauces. We specialize in clean label, non-GMO, All-Natural and Organic products. We maintain an SQF certification in food safety. Our facility also carries a Gluten-Free, Kosher, Organic and Non-GMO certification.
The production lead is responsible for the proper setup and operation of a specific food production line. The production lead will set up the line, oversee the production line during breaks, ensure all SOPs are being followed correctly, overseeing changeovers and recording production and Quality data. The production lead is also expected to provide guidance and train new line employees.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
· Oversee the proper operation of a production line and lead a group of 3 production employees.
· Work directly with quality and production manager to ensure the safe and efficient production based on production schedule.
· Take sample products for quality review
· Break down and change over equipment, as required.
· Complete required production and quality documentation.
· Monitor and escalate problems on the line directly with proper supervision.
· Be a role model to existing employees and provide training to new employees.
· Work directly with engineering, production and qa supervision to troubleshoot problems.
Education and Experience
- 2 years working in a Food environment
- 1 years in a lead role
- Must be able to read English and understand SOP and Recipes
Tools and Equipment
- Production Equipment including , milling machine, blenders, mixers.
- Ovens, Kettles in a commercial kitchen setting.
Language
· English (Required)
· Spanish (Preferred)
Physical/Mental
- Must be able to stand for 10 hours with reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Work may be conducted in both warm and cold environments including coolers, freezers and commercial kitchen environments
