Plantscape's horticulturists care for plants in various businesses throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area. Plantscape has been providing biophilic design to our clients for over 40 Years. Our technicians receive extensive training not only in the field but also through our proven training methods Plantscape 101 and Plantscape University. Our technicians are responsible for the health and maintenance of plants including watering, cleaning, pruning, rotating, fertilizing and Integrated Pest Management. We guarantee that our client’s plants are always looking their best but microclimates and outside circumstances can inevitably cause a plant to crash. We help you learn to identify disease and levels of plant health to determine if a plant needs to be replaced with a new one.
$15-$16/hr based on experience (Part-time)
**This position requires the use of one’s personal vehicle.
**A valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle with a good driving record is required.
MONDAY thru FRIDAY (during core business hours) - NO WEEKENDS
(2) Part-time positions working approximately 20-24 hours per week.
Once trained and we have determined that this is the right fit for you, we will build upon that schedule if you would like more hours. There is always potential for growth!
Rotating Schedules: Week 1: 3 Days / Week 2: 3 Days
WORK AREAS:
Position 1 - West of city limits
Position 2 - Downtown and Oakland areas
Technician Responsibilities:
- Learn and expand an extensive set of horticultural skills through Plantscape courses and on the job training.
- Become certified to apply chemicals and pesticides as needed to plants.
- Regularly consult with an account manager to ensure clients are receiving quality service.
- Ensure replacement plants are identified and ordered promptly.
- Complete all required paperwork and submit it in a timely fashion.
- Maintain positive relationships with client contact.
- Update paperwork such as route sheets and inventories.
- Learn and expand an extensive set of horticultural skills throughPlantscape courses and on the job training.
- Perform duties within industry and company safety standards.
- Perform cleanings of smaller replica plants on accounts.
- Log time in and out of accounts using operating system on a provided Android device.
Requirements
**Pre-Employment RequirementsThis position will require a background check to work with some clients. A drug screen and physical exam are required prior to starting work.#zr

Physical Requirements This position frequently moves about office settings, maneuvers in small spaces, and reaches above head and to ground level. This position occasionally ascends and descends small ladders and may rarely operate a small lift (as certified). This position requires occasionally lifting 30 pounds and frequently lifting 10 pounds, including above the head. This position may push a cart of up to 50 pounds. This position also requires sufficient manual dexterity to operate hoses, tanks, and basic hand tools.
Work Environment This position is primarily conducted in climate-controlled indoor settings, with occasional time spent in a warehouse where temperatures and humidity may vary.
