Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for development, operation and maintenance of the Plas-Tech Tooling manufacturing systems. They will develop and maintain inspection reports, compile relevant system data, reduce productions costs; be involved with Continuous Improvement (CI), Safety Programs, On-Time Delivery (OTD) Initiatives and Part Quality. The ME will review the manufacturing specifications and / or customer provided drawings and work with the Production Manager and production staff to develop efficient set up and manufacturing techniques. The ME will utilize Mastercam and Solid Works to assist tooling design and function. They will assist Management with parts quoting and cost containment measures.
Reporting Relationships
The ME reports to senior management of Plas-Tech Tooling, Inc.
The ME is not a supervisory position as it has no direct reports, but they do function in a supervisory role as it relates to the Plas-Tech Tooling Manufacturing Systems / Techniques and the Quality Management System (QMS). They may be required to provide in-services / training to other employees.
Job Requirements :
Education
Required : Associate Degree in Business or experience in a related field.
Preferred : Bachelor of Science in Engineering or 4 years relevant experience; training in CI or related area such as Lean Six Sigma.
Experience
Required : Two years Lean manufacturing experience.
Preferred : Three years experience in manufacturing with additional CI / Lean responsibilities and / or experience with ISO 9001and Project Management Experience. Additional machining and tool design experience preferred as well.
Essential Functions
Assist with the implementation of the Plas-Tech Tooling Quality Management System and maintenance of organizational compliance with ISO 9001.
Be actively involved with project status review and other organizational meetings.
Assist with providing Quality Assurance oversight for manufacturing procedures.
Serve as customer liaison as required by day-to-day interaction with customers.
Draft Parts and / or tooling.
Support overall organizational production and productivity goals.
Duties and Tasks
Organize / facilitate project status meetings.
Create engineering drawings.
Provide input to the Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) process.
Identify, plan and implement CI projects.
Serve as a backup for the Quality Assurance process.
Performs Project Management duties.
Assist with part quoting and set up.
Review cost and work on cost containment / improvement.
Assist with programming, tool selection and part set up related issues.
Performs any reasonable duties as assigned by senior management.
