As a result of our rapid growth and expanding operations, we are actively seeking a Supervisor with experience in Welding to join our team. This key role is essential to supporting our increasing project demands and ensuring the continued high quality and safety standards of our welding processes.
Our regular work schedule is a four day, 10-hour schedule Monday - Thursday, however, we are working Friday and some Saturdays due to launch requirements.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Required Tasks)
- Ensure all site safety rules are strictly followed. Work with other functional area teams to continuously improve the safety of operations at the facility.
- Ensure all in process quality checks are being performed in accordance with established procedures. Ensure all quality-related process controls are working properly at all times. Work with the Quality Department to determine new ways to ensure a high-quality product.
- Communicate production targets to production team. Measure and communicate status versus these targets. Take corrective actions if targets are not being met.
- Maintain the team environment through open communication.
- Work with other management and Manufacturing Engineers to implement best practices for all processes. Implement lean tools to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and reduce waste.
- Ensure 5S and housekeeping rules are followed. Work with all employees to continuously improve our 5S and housekeeping systems.
- Monitor and keep track of daily production performance. Coach and train subordinates to improve lagging performance and recognize strong performers. Ensure all Facility SOPs, Work Instructions, conduct, safety, and attendance rules are being followed and issue disciplinary action where needed.
- Reconcile ADP time keeping with Oracle work order labor tracking
- Update and manage the manufacturing scorecard process to ensure daily profitability of each work center.
- Create and maintain a cross training plan.
- Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
- Assist in documenting processes for SOP and work instructions for specific projects.
- Assist in TPD’s when necessary or required and implement.
- Adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position.
- Work with program management, engineering and quality during FAIs and special prototype builds.
- Assist in new tooling set-ups and recommendations for new PPE equipment and consumables.
- Clearly understand the Lean / Kaizen process and makes suggestions on potential improvement areas and lead optimization efforts.
- Work with engineering.
- Demonstrate understanding of Tactical planning and production scheduling.
- Build recovery plans for department.
- Lead departmental safety and 5S activities.
- Hold the employees accountable for keeping personal protective equipment (PPE) up to date.
- All other duties as assigned.
