Sales Engineer

Location: Midwest preferred, but role is Nationwide with considerable travel.


Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Sales Engineer with a background in civil or EHS engineering. This role involves selling innovative solutions to various industries looking to manage seepage, odors, and other gas wastes. Although our products are found in facilities ranging from meat packing plants to commercial farms to even biogas facilities, this role will focus on education and sales at the Engineering firm level with the goal of increasing the specification of our product at the design and specification stages. This is a cutting edge, fast growing, technologically-mature product and we are the leaders in the industry – as such the ideal candidate will be trained on our products and services and will need to visit both our manufacturing sites as well as customer installs for a couple of months to learn the ropes.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Client Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with engineering firms across the country involved in designing and specifying large commercial operations that produce waste gasses such as methane.
  • Conduct lunch and learn sessions to educate potential clients about our products.
  • Generate leads and follow up on opportunities to bid on projects.
  • Identify market opportunities and work to open those to further growth.

Technical Expertise:

  • Understand and communicate the technical aspects of our products, especially liners, liner covers, or other waste gas management solutions.
  • Able to speak intelligently and provide solutions to stop leaks and seepage, and control odors and gas emission in large commercial installations.
  • Work on projects involving the construction of lagoons and other biogas-related infrastructure.

Market and Territory Management:

  • The territory is the entire US with a heavy focus on the Midwest, and – to a certain extent – the Southeastern US.
  • Travel nationwide to meet with clients and oversee project implementation, prospect and interface virtually across all forms of media and platforms, and attend trade shows for specific niche industries.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in the wastewater or biogas industry is a plus.
  • Strong self-starter with the ability to farm new business from scratch.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and spend time on-site learning about our products.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary with a wide-open pay range based on experience and performance, as well as very aggressive and rewarding incentive plan.
