Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Gardener to join our nonprofit organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for building soil health and maintaining outdoor gardens, hoop houses, and greenhouses without the use of man-made (synthetic) fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee the planting, care, and harvesting of tomatoes and salsa-type vegetables and coordinate the canning and sale of garden products at farmers' markets
Requirements:
· Extensive experience with vegetable gardens, hoop houses and greenhouses.
· Extensive knowledge and experience with sustainable gardening techniques, including soil health management, no-chemical growing methods, and crop planning
· Excellent communication skills to work with nonprofit staff, volunteers, and community members
· Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, supplies, and produce up to 50 lbs. is a plus. This is a full-time position with benefits.
