Role Description:
The Human Resources Manager will support the Senior HR Manager (Head of HR) by overseeing day-to-day HR operations, managing the Talent Acquisition (TA) team members, and assisting with strategic HR initiatives. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with expertise in HR functions, including payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and employee engagement. Additionally, the HR Manager will provide leadership to the TA person, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and a seamless recruitment process.
What we’re looking for:
- Talent Acquisition Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor the Talent Acquisition team member to ensure an effective and efficient recruitment process
- Collaborate with the TA person to align recruitment strategies with business objectives
- Monitor and provide guidance on sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding activities as needed
- Ensure adherence to best practices and organizational policies throughout the recruitment cycle
- Day-to-Day HR Operations:
- Relieve the Senior HR Manager of routine operational responsibilities by managing daily HR tasks
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures
- Maintain and update organizational charts, job descriptions, and employee policies
- Employee Benefits & Compliance:
- Administer annual Open Enrollment for benefits programs
- Oversee benefit programs, including 401(k), health plans, COBRA, and ACA compliance
- Conduct annual reviews of benefit offerings and provide recommendations to the Senior HR Manager
- Ensure accurate benefit elections in the HRIS system
- Stay current on employment law changes and propose timely policy updates
- Payroll & Reporting:
- Process payroll for approximately 200 employees
- Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure timely monthly bill reconciliations
- Generate monthly and quarterly reports on key employee metrics
- Onboarding & Offboarding:
- Manage the onboarding process, from offer letters to HRIS setup and orientation
- Administer offboarding procedures, ensuring compliance and thorough documentation
- Event Committee & Engagement:
- Work closely with the Event Committee to plan and execute employee events, holiday celebrations, and appreciation initiatives
- Professional Development:
- Support the annual Professional Development Process by assisting managers and staff with questions and guidance
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
- Ensure all HR practices are executed with integrity and discretion
Qualifications
Required:
- 5–10 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven ability to manage and mentor HR staff, particularly in Talent Acquisition
- Strong compliance background with the ability to develop and refine employee policies
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Benefits administration experience
- Familiarity with 401(k) compliance and administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Effective communication and relationship-building abilities
Preferred:
- HR Certification (PHR or SHRM-CP)
- Experience with ADP or similar HRIS systems
- Proven ability to work effectively in a manufacturing setting
