Plastic Molding Technology (PMT) manufactures high precision plastic parts for automotive, telecommunications, medical device, renewable energy, and industrial customers. The primary manufacturing processes are injection molding and thermoforming. PMT has ~100 injection molding presses at its two primary manufacturing locations in El Paso, TX and Centennial, CO (a suburb of Denver). A third facility in Longmont, CO (a suburb of Denver) provides in-house repair and fabrication of tools & dies.

Role Description:
The Operator I is responsible for ensuring machines operate safely and efficiently by performing mechanical adjustments and troubleshooting issues as needed. This role involves monitoring and optimizing process conditions to maintain high product quality. The Operator I also prepares and inspects raw materials, minimizes waste, and supports changeovers when necessary.
What you’ll do:
- Ensure all assigned machines are operating safely, efficiently, and reliably, according to recommended operating guidelines via performing necessary mechanical adjustments
- Ensure high quality products are always produced
- Monitor, report and optimize process parameters
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical or process issues accordingly
- Support changeover activities if necessary
- Ensure all raw materials required are available and defect free before using them
- Monitor material waste and report inconsistencies
- Follow housekeeping rules and keep the work area clean according to the cleaning plan
What we’re looking for:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical/mechanical background in plastics industry, preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Demonstrated mechanical ability
Physical Requirements:
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and very occasionally to climb or balance
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
- The employee is occasionally required to sit
- The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
