Data Management Technician
Summary:
Duties include to monitor and maintain integrity and accuracy of data, ensuring that it meets defined specifications set forth by the individual jobs. Maintain customer/internal personalization databases to ensure their integrity and availability. Perform job accuracy checks, identifying job problems early on and ensuring that job orders are reviewed and/or revised in a very timely manner so that customer approval and production may be completed according to schedule and work with different computer systems to process large amounts of data.

Essential Job Functions

- Review all personalization and variable data jobs, collaborating with pre-press department, sales, MFG, and Planning & Scheduling team for accuracy and completeness of job notes in order to validate newly created proofs
- Resolve discrepancies, errors and potential production problems before the final proof goes to the customer, checking that the data for the last job is not being duplicated by a new one
- Ability to fully understand all processes of PLIs card production process as it will be essential in the top-level stages of Data Management staging every personalization job for the production floor from data manipulation through final labeling and shipment phases
- Take in-house and existing data from customers and format it for the various PLI printing systems which involve extensive use of commercial and in-house software applications to re-format and verify data files while following procedures for every job ensuring 100% accuracy.
- Validate all in-bound data against job notes, personalization specifications, card manufacturing specifications, customer requirements and other systems where the data is needed and will be used
- Maintain all databases for customers that require PLI to hold and store account numbers, in excess of currently issued runs, for future jobs
- Generate data, when not provided by customer, in-house using commercial software and/or PLI internal programs to be formatted for the printing system it will be produced on
- Provide labeling support in anticipation of custom packaging to shipping needs
- Take on additional tasks and continue to learn all department functions in order to perform upper-level tasks and procedures, aiding in the continued growth of the department and company
- Provide support to the Sales Department in areas involving data management and general technical questions/assistance.
- Utilize available assets to further skill sets in line with the IT and Data Management departments
- Supervise and coordinate activities of personnel in the personalization and affixing departments
- Safely perform physical demands as indicated below
- Perform these and other duties as assigned by supervisor or other appropriate management personnel
- Work overtime as needed to meet customers needs
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 years previous experience in database, computer, or prepress roles
Education:
- High School Degree or GED equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong abilities with Excel data files
- Above average math skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
- Strong organization skills
- Strong to excellent computer skills
