Hours: 8:00am-4:00pm
Main Duties:
- Performs functions as assigned of individual positions of Mixer, Blender Operator, Roll Operator, In-Process Tester, Fine Grind Operator, Servicer, Packer, and Utility Cleaner. Performs all functions necessary for operating Color Bay units, including cleaning for changeovers.
- Maintains a full knowledge of all department functions and operations by rotating and working in each position as assigned by supervision.
- Compounds material on production rolls which includes rolling, handling and feeding sheets into the hammer mill. Sets and adjusts roll temperature and nip as directed.
- Compounds material on Extruder and blending equipment which includes starting up equipment by setting controls to predetermined settings. Observes panel boards readouts constantly during start-up and at required intervals during production runs to maintain required process control.
- Packs material in bags, boxes and drums using air and auger bag packers . Assists packers while operating extruder by placing plastic liners in drums and labeling containers.
- Cleans extruders, roll, die, screw and associated equipment as directed during changeover. Changes die on extruder. Assists with changing classifier screens during changeover of production runs.
- Performs all functions and paperwork pertaining to Micro-liquid production.
- Performs specific standardized tests on materials as required such as cup flow, flow curve, disc color match, Brabender, etc. and records results on logs. Performs tests and records results in accordance with Materials Q.A. procedures and work instructions. Reports non-conforming test results to Supervisor at time of testing for corrective measures.
