What are the responsibilities and job description for the Formulator position at Plastikon Healthcare?
Plastikon Healthcare is looking for a Formulator responsible for operating and monitoring a batch formulation process for medical device and pharmaceutical products using blend vessels, and storage tanks in manual mode and with a computerized process control system. The position is also responsible for maintaining the formulation areas, including environmental conditions and scheduled equipment maintenance reporting to the Production Manager.
Job Roles required of the position:
- Formulation and Clean/Sanitization of Production: Formulates solutions per Master Batch Record (MBR), prints labels to job work order specifications, and maintains the cleanliness of tanks, lines and equipment through CIP. Maintain, clean, and sanitize areas in the production suites.
- Fill/Pack: Provides support activities in a backup role for packaging activities per instructions in master packaging records and quality system procedures.
- Facility Maintenance: Performs this job role in support of formulation equipment and assumes accountability for the work performed. Provides support for the maintenance department for completion of maintenance requirements of tanks and support equipment.
- Shipping/Warehouse & Receiving: Provides support activities in a backup role for loading and unloading trucks and placement of pallets in the warehouse racking. Assists in the monthly and annual inventory counts of raw materials.
- Other Duties as assigned.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma, or GED, with 2 years’ experience in manufacturing environment. Experience with systems and equipment related to Medical Device and/or Pharmaceutical manufacturing including production systems, ISO Quality Systems, and ERP systems. Working experience with scales, tanks, and transfer piping preferred.
Skills/Qualifications: Working knowledge of basic math to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and averaging. Skilled in use of computer programs such as word, excel, and ERP software.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Required reading, writing and speaking fluently in English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, lift objects, and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, and kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The employee is exposed to laboratory chemical reagents and microbial cultures.
