Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Laboratory Technician to join our team. The QC Laboratory Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that products meet the required quality standards and comply with regulatory guidelines. This position involves conducting tests, collecting research data, and maintaining accurate records to support our commitment to quality and safety. The QC Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting visual inspections and testing to support the cGMP manufacturing operations. The position performs dimensional tests, visual inspection, prepares testing reagents and media, performs wet chemical analysis, and provides support for microbiological procedures. Additional duties to support the laboratory may include logging area and incubator temperatures, sampling of raw materials, releasing packaging materials, environmental sampling of classified areas, dimensional analysis, preparation of media, and sampling and testing water. This position requires attention to detail, a proactive individual with a high degree of integrity, completing testing documentation independently and in a timely manner in accordance with quality system procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine quality control inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Collect and analyze research data to ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP).
- Document findings accurately and maintain detailed records of all quality control activities.
- Ensure adherence to FDA regulations and other relevant industry standards.
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel to troubleshoot issues related to laboratory techniques.
- Utilize mathematical skills for data analysis and interpretation.
- Stay updated on molecular biology techniques and veterinary terminology as they pertain to product testing.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of quality control processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Associate’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related filed preferred. High School diploma or GED considered with additional technical training or up to 5 years’ experience in laboratory testing. Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices.
- Proficient in research data collection methodologies.
- Solid math skills for accurate data analysis.
- Knowledge of GLP, FDA regulations, CGMP, and laboratory techniques.
- Familiarity with molecular biology concepts is preferred.
- Understanding of veterinary terminology is advantageous.
- Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within the team.
