What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance (Engineering) Internship - Summer 2025 position at Plastipak?

As an Intern within our Corporate Quality Lab, you will work closely with the Engineers and our Production or Manufacturing areas to conduct tests, compile data, and tackle real world challenges. You will gain experience with the processes and protocols required to effectively operate an impactful Corporate Quality function. You'll have the opportunity to bring your textbooks to life and see the true importance of quantitative data, testing methodology, and process controls. In addition, you'll round out your internship experience with professional development and networking activities with leaders & professionals in your field.
YOU ARE
- Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred Mechanical, Chemical, and Applied Engineering or similar; unfavored Electrical Engineering or similar)
- Expected graduation date of December 2025 or Spring 2026
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Will be residing within a commutable distance to our Global Headquarters located in Plymouth, Michigan
- Eligible to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship, & will not require employer sponsorship after graduation
- Detailed work plan, including a defined project and additional day-to-day responsibilities
- A mentor and buddy to provide support and guidance throughout the summer
- 20 hours of formal Professional Development activities
- Extensive networking with leaders & professionals
- Exposure through job shadowing & participation in leadership meetings
- Team-building & social activities (it’s summer after all!)
