_ We are hiring several positions at our N. Dallas, Baylor, and Plano Dallas Assosciated Dermatologists locations. These positions are for entry-level and experienced Medical Assistants. _

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks: Escort patients to and from the exam room, preparing the patient for their examination. Enter complete medical histories along with patients' current medications into the chart. Assist the Physician/Provider in the room by scribing the notes in the patient's medical record. Assist with setting up biopsies, excisions, suture removals, and cosmetic procedures. Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments. Daily cleaning and organizing of exam rooms, along with stocking the rooms. Laboratory maintenance that includes cleaning and autoclaving instruments. Other duties as assigned to the back office. Must have a valid driver's license.

Education

High School Diploma required. Medical Assistant training. Certified Medical Assistant preferred but not required.

Qualifications

Must have 1-3 years of experience working in a medical office as a medical assistant. Prior Dermatology or plastics experience is preferred. Quality written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. Strong phone etiquette. Teamwork. Professional in appearance and mannerisms. Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers. Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider's instructions, and know when to seek information or advice. Strong organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience working on electronic medical records.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Physical Requirements: Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
