Position Title: Business Development Manager (Sales)
- Reports To: Sales Manager
- Location: Your home office; mostly remote; based in the greater Grand Rapids MI area
- Salary: $50-60,000 base salary commissions bonuses excellent benefits. Base salary is $50000 for the first three months of orientation, then $60000 base after all metrics are met, plus commissions.
- Status: Full-time, Exempt role
Job Summary:
Responsible for sales and promotion of our software to accounts in an assigned region of the country for our small and growing, successful, multi-million-dollar software company. The primary goal is to secure new business and expand product use by existing and new users within the EMS, Nursing, and Allied Health industries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prospect for new business and increase awareness of the company’s capabilities through in-person or virtual client meetings, referrals, sales leads, demonstration requests, emailing, cold calling, networking, instructor courses, attending workshops, conferences, and trade shows. Continuously keep your sales funnel full.
• Prospect existing customers to migrate them to the new product offerings and latest solutions (cross-selling).
• Objectively identify, qualify, develop, and close sales opportunities; document in reports and our HubSpot CRM.
• Maintain the client database of all customers and prospects within our HubSpot CRM system.
• In-person attendance of trade shows, instructor courses, client visits, workshops, and conferences to support sales and marketing efforts.
• Attend staff and sales meetings at designated times; remote and in-person meetings.
• Maintain HubSpot CRM records to reflect pipeline status accurately.
• Routinely check in with customers to measure customer satisfaction and the decision-making process for adoption.
• Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities.
• Actively manage call schedule to cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner adequately.
• Maintain an ongoing awareness of new products and services and competitor activities.
• Give demonstrations of the software to potential clients, usually online.
• Follow up to ensure the new clients have signed up and attended training sessions.
• Perform additional tasks that may be assigned or requested by the Marketing, Sales, or Executive teams.
• Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; Education, EMS, Nursing, or AH related degrees preferred
• EMS, Nursing, Allied Health, Medical, or Education industry experience preferred
• Required traits- strong business acumen, strong work ethic, self-motivated, team player, and “hungry with integrity”
• Required skills- strong verbal, written, and presentation skills; good sense of humor; strong follow-through skills
• Experience with outside sales, lead generation, and closing sales deals- preferred but not required
• Able to maintain a safe driving record, a valid passport, and qualified to rent and drive rental cars (for travel events)
• Ability/willingness to travel as much as 50% at peak times required; 25% is the average travel amount.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and additional computer skills
• Preferred experience- HubSpot CRM, Google Docs, Zoom, Zendesk, Outside Sales experience, online research, marketing.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to talk and listen to employees and clients required to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time. Extended travel is normal in this role and may occasionally exceed 40% of the time; however, 25% travel is the average. This role also requires a willingness to work long hours and possibly weekends when business requires. The work environment will be at their home office most of the time: work office, client meeting rooms, hotel conference rooms, and exhibit halls when traveling. Will be required to use office equipment, cellular phones, laptop, and computer software on a regular basis provided by the company.
