Our firm is seeking a Staff Accountant who enjoys collaboration and wants an opportunity to expand their professional career in an experienced CPA firm environment with diverse clientele. If you are a driven and enthusiastic individual with 2 years minimum experience in financial accounting and reporting, joining Platinum Financial Services is a great opportunity for you. This is primarily an onsite position. 

 

This individual must be a proactive, self-starter that is able to maintain client accounts and meet deadlines. They will be responsible for providing accounting/bookkeeping services to their assigned clients, assisting other clients as needed, and completing the month-end close process. The selected candidate must be able to not only collaborate with other team members but work independently to ensure task completion. Accountability is a key quality we require along with being detail oriented, able to multi-task, strong work ethic, and a desire to grow professionally.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·        Performing accounting functions to include reconciliations, recording and adjusting journal entries, analyzing accounts, fixed assets, depreciation, and completing trial balance to prepare tax returns.

·        Managing 12 or more clients. This includes bookkeeping, budgeting, variance analysis, year-end preparation, projects, audit assistance, etc.

·        Setting up clients on QuickBooks Online. Creating chart of accounts, assigning rules, recording journal entries, etc.

·        Preparing monthly write ups.

·        Preparing and analyzing financial statements.

·        Quarterly/Yearly payroll tax filings and payments including 1096/1099/W2 forms.

·        Provide analytical support for various projects.

·        Research and resolve technical issues.

·        80% financial accounting and reporting, 10% special projects, 10% tax preparation.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

·        Bachelor’s degree in accounting

·        2 – 4 years of accounting experience

·        Eligible and actively pursuing CPA certification

·        Intermediate excel skills

·        Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (a plus)

·        High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and written verbal/communication skills

·        Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

·        Ability to manage multiple clients and meet deadlines

·        Strong organizational skills with the capability to balance competing priorities

·        Ability to leverage relationships within the organization to meet deliverables

·        Ability to establish trust and maintain a collaborative disposition working cross-functionally in the organization
